Life Changes

As of today... these are the statements we've heard in the year 2010 that have changed our lives.
"Happy New Year!"
"We're having a baby in August!" -Kelly's sister Tracy and her husband Chris the first week of January
"Surprise, I'm pregnant!" -Kelly to Eric January 16th
"7 weeks along, everything looks great! You'll be due around September 28th." - Kelly's Dr. February 11th
"Eric, something's not right." - Kelly to Eric on vacation in California the first week of March
"Kelly, I have such a peace about whatever happens, either way." - Eric to Kelly in Arizona a few days later.
"I'm sorry, but you are having a miscarriage. The baby stopped developing at 7 weeks." Kelly's Dr. Monday, March 8th, Kelly was 10 weeks along.
"Can we consider moving to Arizona at the end of the year if we don't have the baby in September?" - Kelly to Eric after the appointment.
"They have openings for my job in Phoenix, my manager sent my resume to a manager down there and I have a phone interview Friday." - Eric to Kelly March 10th
"We're putting our house up for sale... we're moving to Arizona!" - Eric and Kelly March 12th

And so the year began... It started out with Kelly's sister telling us she was pregnant and due in August. Kelly found out 2 weeks later that she too was pregnant, and surprised Eric with the news. Our first ultrasound was great, at 7 weeks we got to see our baby and it's little heartbeat. The first week of March we went on vacation with Eric's family to California and Arizona. While there, Kelly had some complications, but we felt such a peace that passes all understanding. When we returned and went to the Dr., our worst fears we confirmed... and Kelly would begin the process of miscarrying that lasted for an entire month before it was all over. Within one week, we found out we would miscarry, Eric looked into branches in Arizona, and would have a phone interview the same week. We put our house up for sale and prayed about where God would have us go. There were two openings in two different cities, one where Eric has extended family, and one an hour away from them. All during this time, Kelly was having a painful miscarriage that ended at the end of March. She is feeling much better now and we have begun the process of healing emotionally. But we know our baby is safe with our Heavenly Father who is providing a much better home than we ever could. We have now discovered that we will be in Peoria, AZ close to Eric's family, and Eric starts work in Arizona May 12th! Talk about a change in our lives! Our home is for sale, hopefully with a buyer coming in soon. We have selected an apartment complex in Arizona to live, the same one we looked at to live in 3 years ago when we were engaged and had a dream of moving to Arizona. And here we are, God has MUCH better timing than we ever could. His plans for us are good and are full of his promises. How great is our God!
This blog was created to keep in touch with our family and friends and share our new adventures with you. This is a huge change in our lives, moving across the country, starting a new life style. We also will be Uncle Eric and Aunt Kelly in August as Tracy and Chris are having a baby boy! We can't wait to see the plans God has for us and to give Him the glory through our adventures!

  1. Kelly and Eric, I barely knew Eric while at Bethel and I saw your blog on your facebook page. I am so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I too experienced a very painful-emotional and physical-miscarriage. I was due on August 11th and lost the baby January 12-we were 10 weeks along. I have no words to make it easier as it is still hard. Just know that you are in my prayers. I pray for continual peace and comfort from our Lord. He has taken our children and given them a much better home than we could ever have given them, but I know that doesn't take the pain of the loss away.
May God bless you two on your new life in AZ!
